The following clinics & services are provided by the medical team at Civic Medical Centre:
Well Person Screening
Some healthy people under the age of 65 may be at increased risk of coronary artery disease (heart attacks) and strokes later in life. We invite patients to have a screening assessment with our practice nurse every three years on an appointment basis. We strongly urge this for patients who have a relative who was affected by this sort of problem under the age of 60.
The screening will consist of blood pressure, weight and urine measurements, blood tests, if appropriate, a lifestyle questionnaire and advice if necessary.

The practice runs regular nurse led clinics to monitor patients with diabetes. Help & advice can then be offered if any problems are identified.

Maternity Services
All the doctors are keenly involved in maternity services and each run an antenatal clinic. Most births are at Arrowe Park Hospital.
Family Planning
A full range of contraceptive services is provided and can be obtained by making an appointment with a GP or Practice Nurse during normal surgery hours. We recommend regular cervical smears that can be arranged by appointment with a nurse. Alternatively, there are a number of Family Clinics in the area providing a range of days and times. For more information contact our reception.
Pre Conception Advice
If you are planning a pregnancy we would suggest that you see your doctor for health advice at least three months before.
