Fraudulent Phone Calls

We have been made aware that a patient at another GP surgery in the Cheshire and Merseyside region received a phone call from someone masquerading as a medical professional associated with that surgery. This caller offered the patient some medication that they could try at a cost and then proceeded to ask for bank details to proceed with payment.

Our surgery staff will never ask for payment over the phone. If a payment is required (for example for a private GP letter) then we will ask patients to pay at reception.

If you have any concerns over a phone call from someone claiming to be at the surgery, then terminate the call and contact the surgery via 0151 645 6936.
